I have just come back from a fabulous long weekend in California, to a gorgeous Chicago with temperatures in the 70s and we may even break the 80s today! If you live on the west coast, it’s probably hard to imagine how enthusiastic Chicagoans get when we get spoiled by warm weather. The summer clothes are out, the bike paths are filled (well, almost filled :-)) with commuters and everyone is probably looking forward to get out of work earlier today 😉 It also helps that we just had daylight savings time this past weekend and we get to enjoy an extra hour of sunlight in the evening. Now, it is not pitch dark when I make my way towards the purple line station by work…woohoo!
If you can’t tell already, I am really excited about the weather and the extra-sun, but what makes me even more excited is the asparagus season, and the outdoor Farmers markets opening shortly. If you live in Chicago, you can find info about the dates and locations on the Explore Chicago website. And here is the seasonal chart from there:
And now time to get back to work and stop dreaming about asparagus dishes…or keep dreaming for a little longer 🙂 Hope everyone is enjoying some nice weather and is ready for some spring vegetables!
